Keeping it Strange at Area 506 2023 Edition

At Strange Grooves, our mission has always been to connect with others through music. Obviously, a big way people do that is through live music!

That’s why over the years we’ve partnered with live events and festivals over the last six years, and one of our most precious and awesome partnerships has been with Area 506!

For those of you who are not from the Maritimes, Area 506 is a yearly festival celebrating all things New Brunswick. As part of that, they bring in a stellar lineup of local acts and jaw-dropping headliners from across the country. The festival seems to get better and better every year, and this year was a perfect example of that!

This year’s festival includes headliners The Sheepdogs, Metric, Billy Talent, The Beaches Sam Roberts Band, and some of the best New Brunswick and Maritime acts.

It’s the festival we look forward to every summer, and over the years, we’ve been so thankful to work with Area 506 in some way. From creating a groovy backstage shipping container lounge for artists (2018) to providing media passes to aspiring young music journalists in our city, Area 506 has been incredible with elevating local, including media!

This year, we (Cait & Cherise) were on the ground each night creating content and, let’s be honest, taking in the incredible sets. In fact, Cherise was able to cross seeing Sam Roberts Band off her bucket list. For real, getting to see them play “Hard Road” up close from the media trench was a spiritual experience! You should try it.

As summer *gulps*...comes to a close, we are already thinking ahead to the next festival season. If you know of any festivals and events we should attend, leave us a comment. Better yet, if YOU organize an event or festival to which you’d like to add a little “strangeness,” please reach out!

You know the drill, until next time, keep it strange!

Love,

Cait & Cherise PS KEEP IT STRANGE
